Hi, I’m QIAN ZHANG, LCSW.
I embody a tapestry of identities, embracing roles as a psychotherapist, a woman, an immigrant, an Asian, and more. Yet, beyond these labels, the question of “Who am I?” remains a lifelong journey, one that I delve into both independently and in collaboration with others. I firmly believe that my own exploration of self profoundly influences the therapeutic work I engage in with my clients. As we embark on this voyage of self-discovery together, I am committed to understanding “Who you are” by untangling your thoughts and behavioral patterns, ultimately guiding you towards transformative experiences: discovering your unique essence and nurturing a strong sense of self.
Frequently, I encounter the query, "What is therapy?" In its essence, therapy serves as an enriching process, enhancing the fabric of our lived experiences. Our lives comprise a mosaic of diverse encounters, encompassing both positive and negative elements. While this perspective may capture a fraction of their significance, we strive for something more profound. Together, we revisit and reflect upon the emotional landscapes, significant incidents, and cognitive nuances that shape your narrative. Through this iterative process of exploration and contemplation, we gain valuable insights and cultivate a higher level of acceptance towards our experiences. Consequently, we harvest a newfound sense of liberation and empowerment, mastering our experiences with grace and resilience.
